Three classic rock groups come together to perform at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire Theatre in London on Sunday 2nd November.
Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash, The Groundhogs and Focus.
Wishbone Ash included strong elements of folk, progressive rock, and classical music. The peak of their commercial success came with the critically acclaimed album Argus in 1972. The album was voted by the readers of Sounds magazine as the best rock album of the year.
The Groundhogs were well known for their gutsy blues rock which peaked commercially in the late sixties and ealry 1970’s. In 1971 they played support to The Rolling Stones on their British tour at the personal request of Mick Jagger. They released a live album of the Rolling Stone tour which was recorded at Leeds University and called Live at Leeds.
Dutch folk rock band, Focus formed in 1969 and had commercial success in the UK with two fantastic rock classics - Sylvia and Hocus Pocus in 1972. In 1973 they had a commercial hit with the live album At The Rainbow.
