Celebrating their 40th anniversary as a band Wishbone Ash have enjoyed perhaps their busiest year ever with a staggering list of achievements already including a massive party show at the Shepherds Bush Empire where they celebrated the rich forty year history of the band.
The party was also designed to thank the fans who have supported Wishbone Ash over the years. A lot has happened with the band during that time but the one constant is Andy Powell and his dedication to both the music and the fans.
As part of the year long celebrations Wishbone Ash have performed at some of Europe’s top festivals throughout the summer including the Working Class Hero Festival in Norway and other festivals in Holland, Belgium and Germany. They were even invited to play in Normandy France by the mayor of Mezidon in June this year, which they of course accepted.
Sandwiched between a tour of Poland in September and the USA in December, the band are currently on a tour of the UK that will last throughout October.
The latest date to be announced is a show in Dartford, Kent on Sunday November 1st when Wishbone Ash will appear at the Mick Jagger Centre in Shepherds Lane.
Wishbone Ash will be releasing a new album along with the 40th anniversary DVD recorded at the Shepherds Bush Empire party, later this month.
