Amongst the several stages devoted to bringing you the music from all over the world the Latitude Festival, set in the beautiful countryside of Henham Park in Suffolk, is a family-oriented festival with poetry, arts, theatre, political debates and a comedy tent.
For the fourth year running the Latitude Festival tickets have sold out; something not completely unexpected as the festival has previously been voted best small festival in the UK and has received rave reviews every year since it began in 2006. To help tackle the serious problem of fraudulent ticket sales, Latitude Festival has teamed up with the online ticket exchange website, viagogo.
This year’s Latitude Festival 2010 sees an eclectic line-up of artists including Florence & The Machine, Belle & Sebastian, Vampire Weekend, The Horrors, Noah & The Whale, Mumford & Sons, The Big Pink, The Feeling, Corinne Bailey Rae and a special performance on Thursday evening by Nigel Kennedy on the Lake Stage.
Among those appearing in the Comedy Tent will be Emo Phillips, Ardal O’Hanlon, Rich Hall, Phil Jupitus and Rufus Hound.
Other highlights include The Mark Thomas Community Pub Quiz, Jeremy Hardy and New Order’s Peter Hook in the Literary Tent; Rich Fulcher (Bob Fossil from The Mighty Boosch) in the Cabaret Arena, John Cooper Clarke in the Poetry Arena, and Mark Lamarr presents God’s Jukebox with Geno Washington in the Film & Music Arena.
Latitude Festival 2010 will be held on Thursday 15th July to Sunday 18th July and includes 17 stages, tents and arenas along with special designated areas for children, and most memorably green and pink sheep!
