The Xcerts have experienced quite a year in 2009 and have recently announced a UK tour that will keep them busy until Christmas, featuring a hatful of gigs in Scotland.

The Xcerts kicked off 2009 with the release of their anthemic single Crisis in the Slow Lane, which The Observer considered ‘a classic piece of fist clenching melancholia.’

The single was promptly followed by the acclaimed debut album In The Cold Wild We Smile, the launch of the album saw the band taking to the waters of Loch Ness to perform a special show from aboard a boat!

The band performed at the Tokoyo British Anthems show after being invited to take part and were flown out by the British Embassy to perform live and represent their country.

The singles  Just Go Home and most recently Nightschool were released in the summer, coinciding with support dates with Feeder, My Vitroil and childhood heroes Idlewild, good friends The City and music stalwarts Funeral For A Friend.

The band also played at numerous music festivals throughout the summer and found time to release the live album Live At King Tuts , exclusively through iTunes.
