One of Scotland’s most respected bands Trashcan Sinatras have announced a UK tour that will take place in November, kicking off in Glasgow on November 12th at the Oran Mor and finishing a week later at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre.

Trashcan’s will be supported on all the dates by fellow Scottish band The Seventeenth Century, a band that lead singer John Douglas saw live on his return to Scotland and was suitably impressed to offer them the slot as support.

The Seventeenth Century are a five piece contemporary folk/rock band from Glasgow who draw influences from Folk and Baroque music and translate them into contemporary music.

The works of J.S. Bach, Vivaldi and Handel as well as artists such as The Beach Boys, The Dirty Three and The Velvet Underground were interests the members had in common and influence their sound.

Vocal harmonies and intertwining melodies are components the band has had in its music from an early stage. Violin player and lead vocalist Mark is a huge fan of The Incredible String Band which gives the music an extra twist.

The band have recently signed up with Lo-Five, joining Trashcan Sinatras at the label, along with other notables Jo Mango, El Dog, Brother Louis Collective and Ben TD. The Seventeenth Century will be releasing their debut EP in the near future.
