The Girls Are In Charge EP by What Would Jesus Drive

What Would Jesus Drive have had a busy 12 months touring with Dirty Pretty Things and The View, whilst relentlessly promoting their debut download only album Black and Blue. They also went down a treat at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and are now ready to wrestle the last half of 2010 to the ground with a plethora of releases, the first being a four-track EP The Girls Are In Charge.

The EP is a short and spectacular journey through the tongue-in-cheek world of this Anglo / Aussie quartet. The title track The Girls Are In Charge is a bratty, indie-pop master-class. Imagine The Ting Tings rocking out, letting go and cranking up the volume to 11.  The Girls Are In Charge is edgy, yet poppy in a twisted catchy way. It blurts out like a spasmodic bastard offspring of The Knack’s My Sharona crashing headon like a lo-fi tribute band for LCD Sound System – brilliant!

What Would Jesus Drive are fresh, addictive and very 2010. Their ordered chaotic lo-fi fusion sound of electro funk and white garage punk is a welcome distraction in these days of over-produced, save, flat ringtone-friendly music.

After releasing their debut EP We Made This they were quickly snapped-up by Guerrilla Records. What Would Jesus Drive  are now working with underground music collective EyeSeeSound and together, they’ll release The Girls Are In Charge EP, a physical version of their debut album Black and Blue, and not to mention plenty of free downloads and singles taking them into 2011. The Girls Are In Charge EP is the start of an exciting quest to take the UK scene by storm.
