The 39Steps - Coming Clean
The 39Steps is the project of producer, musician & DJ Kato. The debut single, Coming Clean will be released as a digital download on 16th February & proceeds the forthcoming debut album of the same name due for release in March 2009.
Coming Clean is what The 39Steps term as ‘Dark Soul’. Leeds-based Kato is creating a soundscape of jazz, trip hop and film score music, and is very reminiscent of the 1990’s Bristol trip hop sounds of Portishead, Massive Attack & Tricky.
Coming Clean is where Portishead meets John Barry.
The deep, emotive beat-heavy music of The 39steps includes the smooth jazz vocal of guest singer Laura Fowles.
The 39Steps release Coming Clean on the London/Leeds based label, Bad Sneakers Records.
