This weekend sees the start of a busy month of summer music festivals in the UK.

First up is this weekend’s RockNess 2008 taking place on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th June at Clune Farm, Dores near Inverness in Scotland.

Campsites will open at 9am on Friday 6th June for those of you who want to make a long weekend of it!

There is a wide selection of music genres. A complete list of performing artists is listed on the RockNess website.

Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) is the main attraction on Saturday. He has become a superstar DJ over the past several years performing to large gatherings including his Big Beach Boutique gigs on Brighton Beach where on 1 January 2007 he played to an audience of over 20,000 raving fans.

He has also recorded four live dj albums and four studio albums of original material. He is currently putting the finishing touches to his fifth studio album which will include a colaboration with Iggy Pop.

In 1999 Fatboy Slim won three MTV awards for the promo video to his single Praise You. An accolade he superseded in 2001 when he received an amazing six prizes at the MTV Video Awards for the promo video for Weapon of Choice.
