Single Review - Sons and Daughters, The Gift (Domino Records)

A new sound from Sons and Daughters comes through on The Gift. Moving more towards up-beat sounds of pop, this is a truly feel good single with singer Adele Bethel’s outstanding voice sending shivers down your spine.

This Gift is is a heady mix of contrasting guitar riffs; plunging from desert-rock, indie pop and Gothic-style blues.  The Glaswegian quartet sound like Franz Ferdinand and PJ Harvey, with a Scottish Queens Of The Stone Age spliced with The Smiths.

The Gift is certainly going to open some doors for Sons and Daughters.
