The Rolling Stones have today released the track Wild Horses as a digital download, the track which was recorded in 1969 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Wild Horses was the last of three tracks recorded during the three day session, the other tracks were Brown Sugar and You Gotta Move.
Those three tracks were the first to be recorded for the Sticky Fingers album, among the Stones best albums and probably best known for it’s Andy Warhol designed cover featuring a working zipper that opened to reveal… cotton briefs.
Maybe the recent Susan Boyle effort tempted Universal Music to re issue the track, otherwise it is a bit of a mystery as any self respecting Stones fan will already have a decent copy.
The track will be part of a bundle that includes a live version taken from the popular ‘Stripped’ album plus a video of a live performance of the track from Knebworth in 1976. The Wild Horses EP is available from iTunes and costs £1.49.
