Troubled EMI chief Guy Hands has failed to make an impression on ancient rockers The Rolling Stones, who’s contract expires with the company in May. The band are looking at alternative options with Universal Music the most likely, after agreeing to release the soundtrack album for the Martin Scorcese film, Shine a light, through Universals Polydor label.
Despite the fact that the Stones are all in their sixties, they remain one of EMI’s top money spinners, generating over £3 million a year for the company.
A spokesman for EMI has said that they have had no indication that the Rolling Stones have any intention of signing to any other record label.
Head in the sand or what!
