Razorlight US album release & North American Tour Dates

After captivating British fans for more than four years, London-based Razorlight – fronted by lead singer/guitarist Johnny Borrell – now turns its attention to the United States as the latest addition to the Mercury Records roster in America.

Razorlight’s third album, Slipway Fires, released last November in the UK, will be issued in the United States on Mercury in March 2009, coinciding with a major North American tour schedule.

Since the UK release of their debut album, Up All Night, in 2004, Razorlight have become one of most popular bands in UK & across Europe, selling over 3 million albums. Once discovered they were soon playing stadium concerts as support to the likes of U2, The Who, Queen, Oasis, Richard Ashcroft, and the Rolling Stones.

In 2007 they made a major breakthrough by headlining the Reading Festival alongside The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Smashing Pumpkins.

Razorlight made a first impression on American audiences in 2004, with a well-received premiere at South By Southwest (SXSW). Two years later in the summer 2006, their self-titled album Razorlight peaked at number 3 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart.

Three singles were lifted from the second album which further increased Razorlight’s American popularity – In The Morning, Before I Fall To Pieces, and America.
