Amplifier to release third album 'the octupus'

Set for release on January 31st the much anticipated third album from Amplifier has been three years in the making, is universal in its concept and spread across two CDs or three discs in vinyl format.

The Octopus has been something of a labour of love for the Manchester based trio who have produced the album with no support from a record company, working without boundaries, fuelled by ambition and self belief and inspired by a loyal fanbase following online progress reports.

Guitarist Sel Balamir says “It’s taken three years to do and honestly, I don’t think we could ever repeat the effort. I also think this is very probably the best thing we will ever do.”

There are echoes of Led Zeppelin and Rush as one would expect and visions that will invite comparisons with Pink Floyd’s The Wall or Queensryche’s Operation: Mindcrime.

The album also continues the bands love of panoramic quality, an element that they believe most people perceive in their music and that panorama stretches across all sixteen tracks of breathtaking imagination captured by a band on top of their game.

The Octopus is released on  January 31st 2011, through their own label AmpCorp. A special edition version will also be available, which will be limited to 500 copies only and includes a 70 page CD book detailing ‘The Octopus’. Each of these will be dedicated in hand by the band.

You would not have alot of today’s singers. Also, the music inrsutdy would be very crappy. When Michael made Thriller, everyone started to buy it along with other music. So be thankful for him.
