The Babyshambles frontman was released from his spell in Wormwood Scrubs this morning, after serving just 29 days of a 14 week prison sentence.
Despite media reports to the contrary, Doherty insisted that he stayed off drugs during his stay inside, saying “I stayed clean. I got my certificate.” He dismissed newspaper reports that he had taken heroin whilst in prison as “Complete rubbish.”
His sense of humour was intact as he said,
“Some people were saying ‘Keep your head down’, the other half were saying ‘Keep your chin up’. So I was a bit like a nodding dog – I didn’t know whether to keep my chin up or keep my head down.”
Doherty is said to be keen to reschedule his gig at the Royal Albert Hall where he has suggested that he will perform a duet with Amy Winehouse according to the Daily Mirror.
