The Virgins – One Week Of Danger released on Atlantic Records
With well received live appearances including shows at Glastonbury and T In The Park festivals, and the backing of Atlantic Records, The Virgins are making a splash with their new single, One Week Of Danger.
One Week Of Danger is taken from the native New Yorkers critically-acclaimed self-titled debut album, The Virgins, which was released in April.
The single is a groovy indie pop feel good number that will have you tapping your feet and clapping your hands. It’s one of those infectious songs that grows on you until you find yourself humming out loud while waiting for a bus.
The Virgins formed in 2006 in New York. They are Donald Cumming (vocals, guitar), Wade Oates (guitar), and Nick Zarin-Ackerman (bass).
The band toured the UK with Pigeon Detectives in November and December 2008 and in the United States as support to Jet, Sonic Youth and Patti Smith among others.
The Virgins remind me of The Dandy Warhols, and the guitar sound (not tune) on One Week Of Danger sounds alot like You Really Got Me by The Kinks; and that’s no bad thing, is it?
