Noel Gallagher has confirmed that the latest Oasis album has finished being mixed at studios in LA and the band are now looking for a deal to release it later in the year.
The singer was in top form when talking to the BBC News, with his usual outspoken views on anything and everything. First thing to get a blast of Gallagher’s tongue, was Glastonbury, with the rocker saying,
“Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go ‘Kylie Minogue?’ I don’t know about it. But I’m not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It’s wrong.”
“If it ain’t broke don’t fix it,” he said. “If you start to break it then people aren’t going to go. I’m sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance.”
When asked about rumours that Oasis would perform a residency at London’s O2 Arena, Gallagher said “We would never play the O2 Arena.”
“We went there to see Led Zeppelin and to be honest the gig was fantastic, but it was the most soul destroying venue I’ve ever been to, It’s too Americanised for me, and it’s too far away. Any gig you can get to by boat that hasn’t got a beach is wrong.”
The Oasis frontman did however say that the band is expecting to finalise some UK tour dates for later this year, if they can find a venue they like.
