More rumours are abound as to who will be performing at the third annual V Cancer 2008 concert to be held in Manchester at the M.E.N. (Manchester Evening News) Arena.
Former Smiths bass player, Andy Rourke who will be playing live with his new supergroup Freebass with Peter Hook (New Order) and Mani (Primal Scream & Stone Roses), is planning to have other headline acts lined up to perform including The Verve, James, Inspiral Carpets and Happy Mondays.
Rourke stated, “This year’s gig is going to be talked about for years to come. We’ve got some of the biggest bands of the moment lined up as well as some legendary acts.”
Versus Cancer is on Saturday 23rd February and starts at 7PM. Tickets cost £40.00

I’ve watched the band that’s opening the gig (The Sticks) a couple of times around manchester. Well worth a look if you’re there early. Their set’s brilliant.
