Lostprophets have announced the release date of their next single, Where We Belong will be released on January 4th 2010. It is the second track to be taken from the much anticipated fourth album from the band, which is called The Betrayed and will be released on January 18th.

The single will be available as a limited edition 7″, on regular CD or digital download format and features a second track, Sunshine, which describe as ‘too good to be a b side, but the album was full.’

The band wrote the track after becoming disillusioned with life in an LA studio and moving back to Wales where they began the ’second version of this album…this is our love letter to being home.’

Lostprophets – Where We Belong

The Betrayed was recorded in various locations, after the frustrations in LA and the return home to Wales, the band found themselves reinvigorated, energetic and fresh and once again travelled to America where things took shape quickly.

Bassist Stuart Richardson took on production and mixing duties (alongside Justin Hopfer with whom he’d previously worked with on Welsh rock act Attack Attack) for the first time and the band have created their most ambitious and accomplished album to date.

Lostprophets recently headlined the Radio 1/ NME at Reading and Leeds and sold out a Q awards show at the Forum, they are playing tonight (Friday Nov 20) at the Little Noise Sessions at the Union Chapel in London.

On Saturday November 21st Lostprophets will be performing at the Engine Shed in Lincoln and they have announced details of a full headline UK tour for February next year, the dates and venues as below:
