Following on from my recent blog about eighties popsters The Police reforming, it prompted me to wonder what has happened to the current music followers.
When sixties/seventies legends Led Zeppelin announced recently that they would be reforming, tickets were sold out before they officially went on sale. Reports suggested that 20 million hopefuls subscribed for a handful of tickets.
More recently and perhaps more surprisingly tickets for the Spice Girls tour sold out in a staggering 38 seconds!!
Of course the internet is to blame primarily, having the latest concert information and news available to everyone and his dog gives us all a fair chance, no?
As expected the said tickets for Led Zep and the Spice girls are still readily available to us all. Blocks of tickets it seems have arrived on e bay, and if you have the money you can take your choice. Of course not everyone is happy about this situation, the most vociferous being the mega rich Harvey Goldsmith who has slammed e bay for allowing the tickets to be auctioned on their site.
Time to move on Harvey, I would suggest, but why would anyone want to see this stuff in the first place?

I’m surprised ebay are continuing to allow such tickets to be sold in this way, I’m sure they didn’t allow World Cup tickets because of the inflated prices. I was fortunate enough to get my Spice Girls tickets, perhaps I should have gone for my maximum quota (ie six) and made a profit on the ones I didn’t want but then, I’m not greedy like that!
