Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis has said that the number of people applying for tickets for this years midsummer event are down on previous years. He claims that the lack of big name headlining bands has hampered registrations for this years festival.
Talking to the BBC, Eavis admitted;
‘There’s not as many as last year because we haven’t got the super, big, big, big sort of headlining act anymore. We’ve gone for something middle range although Jay-Z is huge in America. It’s going to be absolutely brilliant. But it’s not like a Radiohead or a Muse or a Coldplay or an Oasis is it?’
Well spotted Michael, whatever made you want to change things in the first place.
Registration for tickets at Glastonbury has now closed.
