Supergroup Freebass have finally found themselves a lead singer. Peter Hook revealed that after months of searching and auditioning has led them to Gary Briggs, vocalist with a band called Haven.
‘Hooky’ revealed that the band have been on a constant mission to find the right man, saying “This is about our 15th one.”
“We have had a lot of friends that have helped us which is what has got people’s interest really. We have got Ian Brown doing one this week, we persuaded Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins.
“We have got Rowetta….Tim Burgess done one. Howard Marks is doing a rap on one.”
Freebass are due to play at the Manchester versus Cancer gig later this month, with Liam Gallagher and Ian Brown rumoured to be among the vocalists likely to join them on stage.
