Franz Ferdinand have announced a number of British shows in June; a low-key tour calling in at a number of tiny venues previously un-visited by the band similar in spirit to their shows at Glasgow’s Grand Ole Opry and across the highlands & islands of Scotland last summer.

Franz Ferdinand will play a number of new songs alongside old favourites. The band are now in the last couple of weeks of recording their third album in their Govan hideaway with Dan Carey.

The last half of 2008 will see the band make a number of festival appearances, including headline slots at Latitude & Connect.

Tickets will be going on sale on Friday 6th June 2008 at 9am and will be limited to 2 per person.

Franz Ferdinand are: Bob Hardy (bass), Nick McCarthy (guitar / keyboards / vocal), Alex Kapranos (vocals / guitar) & Paul Thomson (drums).

Franz Ferdinand will also be playing at some UK music festival this summer. The band will headline the Latitude music festival in Suffolk. This family-friendly music event is between 17 and 20 July.

Other main acts will include Sigur Ros, Interpol, Elbow, Interpol, Nick Cave’s Grinderman and Death By Cutie
