Film Noir influenced by Libertines & The Strokes

Film Noir - Film Noir are a new band from France. They’re debut album is I Had a Very Hapy ChildhudFilm Noir are a new band from France. They have just released their debut album, I Had a Very Hapy Childhud [their spelling].

The band cite some interesting influences; among them: Tom Waits, Radiohead, The Velvet underground, The Clash, Stravinsky, The Pixies, Bob Dylan, Nirvana, Sparklehorse, Debussy, The Libertines and The Strokes.

Listening to tracks on their MySpace page, I can definitely hear the Strokes influence in the song It’s Goodbye and The Libertines/ Baby Shambles in the song The Shooting Game.

Film Noir are currently only playing one UK date on 4th June at 93 Feet East in Brick Lane, London.

    ahh something refreshing and not emo-ish. i love emo
    but i’ve been trying to get away from it all morning on
    purevolume with my only success coming in the form of
    the libertines. thank you guys.
