Eminem has confirmed that he will play at the Nelson Mandella 90th birthday bash at Hyde Park on June 27th, possibly as the headline act.

Reports in the Sun suggest that Eminem was contacted by Queen’s Brian May on the off chance, and was surprised that the rapper was interested. Eminem is currently working on new material for a possible new album after retiring from the music business in 2005.

Queen, Razorlight, Stevie Wonder, Keane and Annie Lennox have also been confirmed for the party. U2, Paul McCartney and The Spice Girls are all rumoured to have been asked to play at the gig.

Just what 90 year old Mandella will make of it all, remains to be seen.
