In an interview with Mojo magazine, Elvis Costello has revealed that he will never play in Britain again. Recalling his appearance at Glastonbury two years ago Costello says that it was dreadful,  That gig made up my mind I wouldn’t come back . . . [British audiences] don’t dig me.”

Costello was further upset last year when he returned to do BBC show with the New Orleans songwriter Allen Toussaint. Instead of according Toussaint the same respect, Costello says that the BBC asked to speak to Costello alone.

Will he be missed? I was fortunate enough to see, a much younger Elvis Costello many years ago, I was a big fan. Since the  mid eighties however, we have had to put up with an endless string of self indulgent mindless drivel as Costello floats from one awful project to another in an effort to educate his tortured fans. No, its a long time since he has done anything worth a second listen, so America, you are welcome to it!
