Loud music with melodies is how unsigned band Echo Lake describe their new EP Sink. Crunchy guitar, relentless bass and pounding drums along with three worthy voices, the band are hoping to follow in the footsteps of forbearers Hundred Reasons and Biffy Clyro.
Four original and intelligent tracks make up the EP, the tracks Sink, Untied and Spark demonstrate the bands ability to flow seamlessly between time signatures with consummate skill whilst always maintaining that killer hook, while Eyelids is an acoustic version of a live favourite, showcasing another aspect of the quality of the band.
Taking their first steps on the touring circuit, with shows alongside the likes of indie-hipsters Good Shoes, Echo Lake have inspired enthusiasm and more than just a few eyebrows raised in intrigue. Their ability to swap instruments sees the band with no ‘frontman’ per-se but with all members taking lead vocals, guitar, bass and drums at different points in the set. The rotation keeps audiences hooked, it being constantly unclear what will happen next. Their live show truly has to be seen to be believed.
Check out Echo Lake on MySpace or visit their website to sample some good old British rock music played as it should be played with no bells and whistles, just good old fashioned feeling and integrity.
The EP Sink is available as a digital download released on June 28th.
