Long time keyboard player with The E Street Band Danny Frederici has died aged 58.

Frederici was among the founder members of The E Street Band, the backing group for Bruce Springsteen. He first met the singer in the sixties in New Jersey where they grew up together. Danny passed away at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre yesterday.

Springsteen has cancelled two shows in Miami following the news. He said of Frederici

“Danny and I worked together for 40 years - he was the most wonderfully fluid keyboard player and a pure natural musician. I loved him very much…we grew up together.”
