Do You Like Rock Music? is the third album from the British Sea Power. The album is out now in the UK & Europe and is scheduled for an American release on 12th February.
The album is powerful and possible my favourite from the band so far. It includes the singles Waving Flags and No Lucifer; and for those not familiar with the British Sea Power then I would suggest the music can be either powerful alternative guitar rock or softer more sing-a-long intelligent alternative pop music, at times soft and beautiful.
The husky vocals of enigmatically named Yan are very reminiscent of Richard Butler of The Psychedleic Furs. The anthemic power, beauty and angst of tracks like Waving Flags and Great Skua are very reminiscent of the wonderful Arcade Fire. Make up your own mind. Watch the Waving Flags video by British Sea Power.
British Sea Power come from northern England but now reside in Brighton, on the English south coast; and with Do You Like Rock Music? have released my favourite album of 2008 - so far!
