Kurt Cobain’s ashes have been stolen, says a report in the News Of The World today.

The Nirvana front-man’s remains were stolen from the Los Angeles home of his widow Courtney Love, along with some jewellery and clothes.

Cobain’s ashes were kept in a ‘Pink teddy bear shape bag, with a lock of his hair’. Some of the ashes were scattered after the singer died, near his home in Washington State and some at a Buddhist temple in New York.

“They are all I have left of my husband I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me.” said Love, “Now it feels like I have lost him all over again.”

About A Son a documentary about the life of Nirvanna singer Kurt Cobain, will be released on March 30th.

The documentary features previously unheard interviews with Cobain, recorded a year before his suicide in April 1994. The recordings by journalist Michael Azerad, contain some rather revealing things about the cult icon.

Something that amused me are Cobain’s stories about stealing from his mothers cannabis stash, and replacing what he had taken with herbs. Eventually all that was left was Oregano, and his Mother made him and his friend smoke it!

Cobain talks candidly about being branded as gay at school and his relationships with the rest of the band and of course Courtney Love.

Courtney Love has said that she wants actor Ryan Gosling to portray her late husband Kurt Cobain in the film Heavier Than Heaven. Love is executive producer on the project, based on the Charles Cross biography of Cobain.

Despite earlier reports that Kirsten Dunst would play the ex Hole singer, reports suggest that Love has now asked Scarlett Johannson to portray her in the film.

She wants the best actors to play them, says a report in the Mirror, adding “It will be explosive”.

Following this year’s brilliant biopic of the much troubled Ian Curtis, Control, there is alot of speculation in Hollywood that a new film about the life and times of Nirvana’s frontman Kurt Cobain is to star James McAvoy, the much accliamed Scottish actor who starred in the Oscar winning The Last King Of Scotland.

Rumours are spreading across the web that the biopic is to be based on the book Heavier than Heaven, a biography of Kurt Cobain written by Charles Cross.

The book is based on hundreds of interviews Kurt Cobain’s unpublished diaries, lyrics, and family photos. Heavier Than Heaven traces Cobain’s life from his early days living in a trailer in Washington, to his rise to adoration and fame, where success, it appears, ultimately killed him.

Cross’s own website states the book drawson “… medical and police reports, and Cobain’s own private writings, Cross also reveals the truth about Cobain’s health struggles, his depression, and his tragic final days.”
