T in the Park is the largest music festival to be held in Scotland, and along with Glastonbury, V Festival, the Reading and Leeds festivals attracts big crowds and top artists from around the world. It is one of the undisputed UK music festival highlights of the summer; and so it comes as no surprise to know that tickets for the festival have all sold out.

T in the Park has three main stages and a dance tent; and there are great headline acts booked for them all to offer something for every music taste.

Main Stage
Main Stage headliners for this year’s T in the Park are Muse, Eminem and Kasabian. While Muse and Kasabian are regular UK music festival favourites, this will be Eminem’s first UK music festival headlining show and follows the success of Jay-Z’s controversial Glastonbury headline show in 2008.

Muse headline Friday night with support coming from the likes of trance dance favourites Faithless, Paloma Faith and The Big Pink. On Saturday, Eminem will headline the main stage with performances throughout the day from the likes of Stereophonics, Paolo Nutini, Vampire Weekend and the ever popular Proclaimers. While on Sunday, Kasabian headline the main stage for the first time and receive great support from Jay-Z, Biffy Clyro and Dizzee Rascal among others. What a climatic high that will be!

Radio 1 / NME Stage
Headline acts on the much coveted Radio 1 / NME Stage are The Black Eyed Peas, The Prodigy and Madness. On Friday Black Eyed Peas will be supported by Florence & the Machine, Jamie T and The Temper Trap, with more to be confirmed. On Saturday, T in the Park festival favourites, The Prodigy will no doubt out-strobe and out-stare everyone else and get support from the likes of 30 Seconds to Mars, The Courteeners, The Black Keys and Shed Seven. While on Sunday, the festival will no doubt be in a party mood when Madness headline with support from Groove Armada, The Cribs, Baby Shambles, among others.

Dance Tent
This year the dance tent acts will have to compete with rappers Jay-Z and Eminem among others playing on the main stages on Saturday and Sunday. But with Plastikman, Four Tet and Tricky all playing a live sets and a great line-up of A-list DJ’s including Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Erol Alkan, Dubfire, Adam Beyer, Greg Wilson and Andrew Weatherall among others playing anything and everything from techno to dub, the only problem will be how punters will manage to seee all their favourite acts!

T in the Park will be held at Balado in Kinross-shire between Friday 9th and Sunday 11th July.

Kasabian launch into 2010 with their explosive highly charged new single ‘Vlad The Impaler’, taken from their No.1 album of the year ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’, which has sold over 500,000 copies so far.

The album is one of the biggest selling of the year and yielded the band ‘Best Album’ at this year’s Q Awards as well featuring highly in a whole host of magazine and newspaper’s album of the year lists.

Following Kasabian’s seismic November arena tour, which was preceded by a 20-date summer run and 9 massive stadium shows with Oasis, they resume touring duties in Australia for a series of New Year ‘Big Day Out’ gigs.

Wrtten by Serge Pizzorno and co-produced by Serge and Dan The Automator ‘Vlad The Impaler’ is one of many highlights on the record. A turbo-charged rock anthem and full on rant from start to finish sped along by Tom Meighan’s pulsing vocal, Serge’s bar-raising musical vision, Chris Edwards’ mesmerising basslines and Ian Matthews’ galloping drums.

“Vlad is a total chaos tune,” enthuses Serge. “It’s a call out to all our people, the ones who are tuned into our radio station.”

Kasabian – Serge Pizzorno (Songwriter, Guitar, Vocals), Tom Meighan (Vocals), Chris Edwards (Bass) and Ian Matthews (Drums) have recently been announced as the headliners for T in the Park next year. It’s already set to be one of the musical highlights for 2010.

As spring approaches we are heading for another season of love, peace and rock n roll as we gear up for another summer of music festivals across the UK, and they don’t come much bigger than T In The Park.

T In The Park tickets went on sale on Friday 13th March; and with the headline acts and main support announced, it promises to be another great weekend of live music.

T In The Park has been held every year since 1994 and over the past few years has become the undisputed premier music festival in Scotland. This year the festival will be held over the weekend of Friday 10th – Sunday 12th July at the Balado Airfield in Kinross-Shire.

There are various stages and tents in which to spend your weekend. The Main Stage will play host the headline acts: Kings Of Leon (Friday), The Killers (Saturday) and Snow Patrol & Blur (Sunday).

While the Radio One/NME Stage will be headlined by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (Friday), Nine Inch Nails (Saturday) and Keane (Sunday).

Other artists to play the various stages and tents include Razorlight, Pet Shop Boys, Elbow, Franz Ferdinand, The Specials, James, Bloc Party, Jane’s Addiction, Paolo Nutini, Florence & The Machine, Ladyhawke, The Script, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lily Allen, Manic Street Preachers, Ting Tings, Katy Perry, Maximo Park, Pendulum, Seasick Steve, James Morrison, Peter Doherty, White Lies and Squeeze.

I will be hoping to see the likes of Blur and The Specials (for old time sake), Kings Of Leon, the gorgeous Lily Allen, the amazing Seasick Steve, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and eagerly anticipating the full adrenalin rush of Pendulum live.

As with all the big music festivals now, there will be a banging dance tent for those who like their beats hard, flashing lights, and eyes open wide. The Slam Tent plays host to the techno beats of Jeff Mills (Saturday) and the brilliance of Laurent Garnier (Sunday), supported by the likes of Felix Da Cat, Simian Mobile Disco, Mr Scruff, The Streets and Dave Clarke, among others.

The BBC will be broadcasting live performances across radio and television but nothing beats the live experience of a music festival, and T In The Park has proved over the past couple of years, it’s up there with the best.
