Burial are the bookies favourites to win the Mercury Prize tonight (Tuesday 9th Sept) in London. Dubstep producer Will Bevan a secretive South London musician recently revealed himself as the man behind Burial.

The odds for a Burial win are quoted at 4/6 with bookmaker Ladbrokes, with long shots Adele and Estelle bringing up the rear at 40/1.

Organisers of the Mercury Awards reiterate that the nominations are selected on musical calibre rather than chart performance, with some 240 albums being considered before arriving at the final twelve nominations.

The current favourites are as follows:

Burial 4/6,  Elbow 5/2,  Radiohead 5/1,  Laura Marling 10/1,  Last Shadow Puppets, Rachael Unthank 16/1.

Super Furry Animals side project Neon Neon are at currently ranked as an outsider at 33/1.
