Best Albums of 2009 according to …. David Cooper owner of Melodic Records

The Phantom Band - Checkmate Savage

The Phantom Band - Checkmate Savage

1. The Phantom Band ‘Checkmate Savage’
2. Animal Collective ‘Merriweather Post Pavilion’
3. Fuck Buttons ‘Tarot Sport’
4. The Gentlemen Losers ‘Dustland’
5. Woods ‘Songs Of Shame’
6. The Phoenix Foundation ‘Happy Ending’
7. Cotton Jones ‘Paranoid Cocoon’
8. The Memory Tapes ‘Seek Magic’
9. Matias Aguayo ‘Ay Ay Ay’
10. The Witch & The Robot ‘On Safari’

David suggesting listing only 10 was difficult and wanted to also mention the Ganglians, Real Estate, Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and The Good Feeling Music Of Dent May And His Magnificent Ukelele albums.

He also said, to be “politically correct” he didn’t include any albums released on Melodic Records.
