Sweet Roses is the stunning debut album from AJ Unity, a collaboration between the London based musicians Naomi Suzuki and Philipp M.Moll.
Produced by Rune Langhelle from Bergen, Norway Sweet Roses is an enchanting collection of eight tracks that float through you, mesmerising and immersing and possibly cleansing the soul!
AJ Unity say that their message is to think outside the box, to freely express important parts of being human such as strength, and showing kindness in yourself.
As you might expect then, there is a somewhat mystic ambiance across the album, aided by the beautiful atmospheric soundscapes developed by Philipp M.Moll and enhanced by the incredible vocals of Naomi Suzuki.
The album envelopes many musical genres while remaining immediate and accessible, each track veering in unexpected directions in an amiable way, that only enhances the listening pleasure.
Sweet Roses represents an amalgam of pop, trance, alternative and electronica amongst its many musical influences and genres, there is even a nod to trip hop, but coming from a completely different angle to its original Bristol connection.
Definitely my favourite album so far this year, Sweet Roses from AJ Unity is highly recommended.
Sweet Roses is released through Nana Records on May 31st – For further information visit the AJ Unity website.
